The Stillman diet was created by doctor Irwin Maxwell Stillman. This diet is very restrictive in that it cuts out carbohydrates and fats. The focus of the diet seems to center around high protein and nothing else. The diet does offer up some dairy choices that you may choose from. The diet is not restrictive in the amounts of foods that you can eat. In fact you may eat all you want of the foods allowed. The diet is restrictive in that it cuts out almost all forms of food.

With the Stillman diet you are giving 5 areas of foods that you are allowed to eat out of. Lean meats such as beef, lamb and veal are allowed. You can cook these by either broiling, boiling, baking or smoking them. Chicken and Turkey are allowed as well. When preparing these you can either roast, broil or boil the meat. Lean fish and seafood is allowed on the Stillman diet. You may use cocktail sauce, horseradish or ketchup with the fish or seafood. Eggs are allowed to be eaten. You may cook these either by hard boiling, soft or medium boiled, poached or fried but hard boiled is the preferred method for eggs. For dairy you are allowed cottage cheese, farmer cheese and pot cheese that is made from skim milk only. Your are not allowed to use butter, margarine, oil or grease to prepare any of your foods.

For drinking on this diet you must consume 8, 10 ounce glasses of water each day. In addition to you water you are allowed to drink coffee, tea and any carbonated beverage that does not have calories.
